Tellurex Cup Holder in 2007 Sebring Is A Winner At Ward’s “Automotive Interior of the Year” Competition

The envelope please.
And the winner of the Best Cup Holder is…the Chrysler Sebring.

It’s official. The Tellurex cup holder in the new Chrysler Sebring received the “Best Cup Holder” award at the prestigious Ward’s Automotive Group “Interior of the Year” competition this past week in Detroit.

This year, Ward’s identified four categories for special achievement, one of which was “Best Cup Holder.” Chuck Cauchy, President of Tellurex said, “We always knew that if the public got a chance to experience this feature in their cars they would love it. Thanks to Chrysler for being the first automaker to offer it”.

The cupholder has been such a hit that Chrysler now also offers it in the 2007 Dodge Avenger. Mark Phelan, automotive columnist for the Detroit News recently wrote, “Every Avenger comes with a cool zone, Dodge's name for an air-conditioned compartment located above the glove box that can hold four cans or bottles. The optional and single heated and cooled cupholder is even better. The feature is so endearing that I have no doubt some people will buy an Avenger -- and love it -- for the cupholder alone. chill and reheat drinks to taste. Only the Avenger and the Chrysler Sebring offer the feature today. The Chrysler Group should rush it into as many other models as possible to maximize its advantage before every other automaker catches on.”

The annual awards program, sponsored by Ward’s AutoWorld Magazine, is part of the Ward’s Auto Interior Show held at Detroit’s Cobo Center. According to Auto Spectator (June 7, 2006 issue), the Ward’s show is “the industry’s leading trade show and conference for vehicle interiors.”
