Without thermoelectric temperature management, excessive heat can damage telecom equipment, causing circuit overloads and battery failures. Cold can represent a profound challenge in many critical situations where battery life is dramatically shortened and where equipment can stubbornly refuse to pan or rotate or even start. The brilliance of thermoelectric modules is that both hot and cold thermal management can be stabilized or modulated in increments as small as 0.1°C to prolong battery life and assure all weather functionality.
Portable power is another challenge, especially when battery-powered equipment draws heavy-duty use in the field, sometimes far from re-charging sources. Electrical grid failure can take hours—even days—to correct, leaving mission-critical customers down and out when power is most needed. Remote battery re-charging used to be a dream, but now it is a practical strategy to be considered.
